Privacy Policy
The transparency of recorded information and the privacy of proprietary information have been important considerations for the DevCreek team from the beginning.Transparency
We currently record Java and Ruby test results, and details of how the DevCreek Eclipse client is being used. We intend to expand to record other kinds of test results, but we will always provide details of what we record. From the Eclipse client, users can also download and examine all of the information that has been recorded recently for their projects.
Privacy
We have two kinds of project in DevCreek, Open and Walled. Walled projects are not included in aggregate reports, limit access to project-specific reports to project members, and show "Walled" instead of the actual project name in scoreboard statistics. (The project name is hidden on the server side: no client receives the actual name.)
Walled project data, once obfuscated to remove identifying project and method name information, may be used for industry vertical reports or research reports.
Intelliware is committed to upholding fundamental principles of honesty and integrity in our relationship with visitors to our Web site. To that end, Intelliware has adopted rigorous standards of privacy and makes the following promise to every visitor to our Web site:
When a visitor to Intelliware is required to submit registration information as a prerequisite for accessing any content area of Intelliware or to use any of its interactive services, contests or newsgroups or e-Commerce applications, Intelliware will not share or sell that personal information about our users to any outside agency, advertiser or other third party unless the user was made aware of this possibility prior to submitting their personal information. Although Intelliware will use "cookies" to track user patterns on its Web site, Intelliware will not use cookies to learn the identity of its users, nor will we attempt to track users after they leave the Intelliware site. Further, cookies will not be used by Intelliware to gather specific personal information about individual users. The usage patterns tracked by individual cookies will remain confidential, and Intelliware will not participate in any external site tracking programs, nor will we share any cookie-generated information about individual users or user patterns with outside agencies or advertisers. An Intelliware advertiser may be given summaries of collective user patterns. For example, an advertiser might be told their ad was viewed by 6,000 users on a particular day and that 100 users clicked on the ad. However, an advertiser will never be given information about individual users or their browsing habits. Intelliware will not send unsolicited e-mail to its users, nor will the use of cookies by Intelliware result in an Intelliware user receiving unsolicited e-mail from Intelliware or its advertisers. Intelliware will not supply e-mail addresses to any third party without having first obtained the consent of a user.
When Intelliware asks its users to supply optional, personal information for contests, survey, e-Commerce applications, or for any other purpose, that information will remain private and will not be shared with any outside agency, advertiser or third party unless the user was made aware of this possibility prior to submitting their personal information. Intelliware will compile site-wide demographic information that it will share with advertisers, but it will not compile profiles of individual users, including the gathering of names, addresses, e-mail addresses and other personal information to be shared with an advertiser unless the user has consented to the compilation of this material and has submitted it freely in a registration form or survey. Intelliware tracks user IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration, demographic profiling and traffic logging, but Intelliware will not use IP addresses to try to identify individual users of the Intelliware Web site. Intelliware will abide by all court orders, valid search warrants and subpoena.
